Major Radioactive Components Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 50.2 [Title 10 – Energy; Chapter I -- Nuclear Regulatory Commission; Part 50 -- Domestic Licensing Of Production and Utilization Facilities; General Provisions], major radioactive components means, “for a nuclear power reactor facility, the reactor vessel and internals, steam generators, pressurizers, large bore reactor coolant system piping, and other large components that are radioactive to a comparable degree.”
