Mass Separation Notice Law and Legal Definition
Mass Separation Notice is a formal report in some States of a mass separation reported by an employer to the State agency listing the names of workers separated from their employment along with other mandatory data disclosing the reasons for elimination.
In Georgia, when 25 or more employees separate on the same day for the same reason, employers are required to fill out two mandatory forms: (1.) the Mass Separation Notice and the Mass Separation-List of Workers form. If a mass separation occurs, these two forms must be completed and either faxed or mailed to the Georgia Department of Labor within 24 hours after the date of separation.
