Medical and Other Health Services Law and Legal Definition
Medical and other health services means and includes services such as physician’s services, hospital services rendered to health care consumers, and partial hospitalization services that are incident to physicians' services provided to outpatients. It also includes diagnostic services, outpatient physical therapy services, outpatient speech-language pathology services, outpatient occupational therapy services, rural health clinic services, federally qualified health center services, home dialysis supplies and equipment, self-care home dialysis support services, and institutional dialysis services and supplies. [42 USCS § 1395x(s)]. In addition, medical and other health services include ambulance service where the use of other methods of transportation is contraindicated by the individual's condition. A medical and other health service when furnished by a critical access hospital on an outpatient basis is referred to as outpatient critical access hospital services.
