Medical Cannabis Law and Legal Definition
Medical cannabis popularly known as medical marijuana refers to the use of cannabis as a recommended form of medicine as prescribed by a physician. In other words it is the use of cannabis as herbal therapy. The use of tetrahydrocannabinol and other cannabinoids will be treated as medical cannabis. Use of cannabis for recreational use is illegal in most parts of the world. In the U S. federal law outlaws all cannabis use, whereas permission for medical cannabis varies from state to state. Only ten states have legalized the use of cannabis for medicinal purposes. California was the first state to legalize medical cannabis.
