Medically Needy Family Person Law and Legal Definition
Medically needy family person refers to a parent or caretaker relative of a child who meets the deprivation requirements of aid to families with dependent children or a child under 21 years of age or a pregnant woman of any age with a confirmed pregnancy, whose income and resources are insufficient to provide for the cost of health care or coverage. Additionally, a child 18 years of age or under whose family's income does not exceed 300 percent of the federal poverty level is a medically needy family person. They are entitled to state Medical benefits.
