Medication Error Law and Legal Definition
Medication error means the error that occurs during the process of selection of drug prescribing medication, transcribing, selection of resident, dispensing, administration, and monitoring a drug without a valid order. Such errors made in dispensing medication at the facility are reported in medication error reports. Medication error also refers to the defective or incomplete diagnosis or treatment of a disease or other ailment. Serious medication errors will not be tolerated and can result in discharge. It is also called as medical error.
