Medium Work Law and Legal Definition
According to 20 CFR 416.967(c), medium work is defined as work that “involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.” If someone can do medium work, it is determined that s/he can do sedentary and light work also. [Ter-Papyan v. Sullivan, 1992 U.S. App. LEXIS 3987, 6-7 (9th Cir. Feb. 24, 1992)].
