Medley is another term for an affray. This means a sudden or casual fight in a public place. The term also refers to a hand to hand battle. Medley is a statutory offense that is punishable. There are two types of medleys; chaud medley and chance medley. Chaud medley is a homicide committed in the heat of a fight under the influence of passion. Chance medley is the killing of a person in a casual fight for self-defense.
