Mining Overburden Law and Legal Definition
According to 36 CFR 6.3 [Title 36 Parks, Forests, and Public Property; Chapter I National Park Service, Department of the Interior; Part 6 Solid Waste Disposal Sites in Units of the National Park System.] Mining overburden means “material overlying a mineral deposit that is removed to gain access to that deposit.”
