Mirror Wills Law and Legal Definition
When a husband and wife execute wills with respect to the same property independently, in each others name, such wills are called mirror wills. Mirror wills are individual wills. They are separate legal documents with same contents. The wife and the husband are both a beneficiary and an executor.
Under a mirror will the husband or wife leaves everything to each other respectively when one partner expires. If both husband and wife die together then the property under the will shall be directed to their children. If there are no children then the property will devolve upon the named beneficiary. Usually mirror wills serve as estate planning tool for families.
