Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission Law and Legal Definition
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission ("Commission") is a board that governs the department of transportation in the state of Missouri. The tenure of each Commission is six years. The Commission consists of six members where not more than three members will be from the political party. The Missouri Department of Transportation's director and secretary to the Commission are directlly appointed by the Commission. All other hiring is done by the director, with the approval of the Commission. It is a bipartisan board. The Commission plans and maintains the state's highway network.
