Mortgage Identification Number Law and Legal Definition
Mortgage Identification Number (MIN) is the number assigned to a mortgage that is registered with the Mortgage Electronic Registration System (MERS). This is used for identification and various other purposes for life or mortgage. The mortgagee designates a MIN, that will act as the permanent reference number with respect to the mortgage.
