Motor-voter refers to a legislative attempt to expand the number of locations and opportunities for people to register to vote. The law requires states to make voter registration materials available at driver-licensing and motor vehicles offices. When people go to renew license or auto registration, the Motor Voter law provides its customers an opportunity to apply to register to vote, or update voting information.
