Muncipal Security Law and Legal Definition
According to 5 CFR 2640.102 [Title 5 -- Administrative Personnel; Chapter XVI -- Office of Government Ethics; Subchapter B -- Government Ethics; Part 2640 -- Interpretation, Exemptions and Waiver Guidance Concerning 18 U.S.C. 208 (Acts Affecting a Personal Financial Interest); Subpart A -- General Provisions], municipal security means “direct obligation of, or obligation guaranteed as to principal or interest by, a State (or any of its political subdivisions, or any municipal corporate instrumentality of one or more States), or the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, or any other possession of the United States.”
