Muster-Roll Law and Legal Definition
Generally, the term 'muster-roll' is used to refer labor attendance registers maintained at work sites. It also refers to the official roll of persons in a military, naval unit, or ships company.
When used in the context of maritime law, muster-roll refers to a shipmaster's account listing the name, age, nationality, and quality of each and every employee on the ship. The muster-roll is kept by the master or the person responsible for the care of the ship. In wartime, it is used in ascertaining a ship's neutrality.
