Parent Law and Legal Definition
Pursuant to 25 CFR 11.1200 [Title 25 -- Indians, Chapter I -- Bureau of Indian Affairs, Department of the Interior], the term parent means “persons who have a child in common, regardless of whether they have been married or have lived together at any time.”
