Parliamentary Diplomacy Law and Legal Definition
Parliamentary diplomacy means the negotiations and discussions carried out according to their rules of procedure in international organizations. The main object of parliamentary diplomacy is to increase mutual understanding between countries, to improve scrutiny of government, to represent their people better, and to increase the democratic legitimacy of inter-governmental institutions. The League of Nations often adopts the parliamentary diplomacy to acknowledge the equality of states and the supremacy of great powers.
