Pay and Duty Status (Health Care) Law and Legal Definition
Pay and duty status means the time when an employee is actually at work. It does not include time when an employee is on annual or sick leave, leave without pay, excused absence or other absence from duty. In the federal employees’ group life insurance (FEGLI) program, any employee who is in the pay and duty status will be automatically enrolled in basic life insurance benefits.
