Pay-Per-Call Services Law and Legal Definition
According to 15 USCS § 5714 (1), [Title 15. Commerce and Trade; Chapter 83. Telephone Disclosure and Dispute Resolution; Regulation of Unfair and Deceptive Acts and Practices in Connection with Pay-Per-Call Services] the term pay-per-call services “has the meaning provided in section 228(i) of the Communications Act of 1934 [47 USCS § 228(i)], except that the Commission by rule may, notwithstanding subparagraphs (B) and (C) of section 228(i)(1) of such Act [47 USCS § 228(i)(1)], extend such definition to other similar services providing audio information or audio entertainment if the Commission determines that such services are susceptible to the unfair and deceptive practices that are prohibited by the rules prescribed pursuant to section 201(a) [15 USCS § 5711(a)].”
