Paycheck Fairness Act Law and Legal Definition
The Paycheck Fairness Act is an effort to address male–female income disparity in the U.S. The purpose of the bill is to stop retaliation against employees who share or seek wage information and close a loophole that some employers use to avoid paying women equal wages.
It is also called as common-sense bill, in the sense that it would make it easier for women to file class-action suits against employers they accuse of sex-based pay discrimination, and require companies to be more cognizant of their pay practices.
