Payor (Probate) Law and Legal Definition
Payor is the person or institution of government responsible for making payment. A payor is obliged to pay a debt by some written instrument. Pursuant to section 1 201 of the Uniform Probate Code, payor means a person authorized or obligated by law or a governing instrument to make payments. Payor includes a trustee, insurer, business entity, employer, government, governmental agency or subdivision.
