Penal Farm Law and Legal Definition
Penal farm is a correctional institution to which persons convicted of misdemeanors are sent. [Summers v. State, 198 Ind. 241, 243 (Ind. 1926)].
It is a farm maintained as a part of the correctional system of a state to which prisoners may be sent for rehabilitation by work, whether at agricultural pursuits or industrial plants maintained on the land.
