A physical altercation is generally a confrontation, tussle or physical aggression that may or may not result in injury. Physical altercations are distinguished from verbal altercations by the use of physical force or contact. It may also be referred to as bullying, fighting, or battery. For example, in a sports league, physical altercation may be defined as any physical contact not associated with the normal playing of any athletic contest.
