Pink Sheet Law and Legal Definition
Pink sheet is a daily report, printed on pink paper, of the prices for over the counter securities. It is a daily publication compiled by the National Quotation Bureau that quotes bid and ask prices of over-the-counter (OTC) stocks along with all the market makers that trade them. Pink sheets include information such as the bids, asks, and the market makers giving them. Since companies listed on pink sheets are over-the-counter, they do not have to meet any listing requirements, and may therefore be quite small. Pink sheet provides current prices and other information in both print and electronic formats to the over-the-counter (OTC) securities markets.
Pink sheets got their name because they were printed on pink paper. One can tell whether a company trades on the pink sheets because the stock symbol will end in PK.
