Poor Man's Oath Law and Legal Definition
Poor man's oath is an oath taken by a person arrested under a body execution, whereby he may be discharged. It is also an affidavit, made by a plaintiff, having a just cause of action against the defendant, stating that, by reason of his poverty, he is unable to give security for costs.
