Post-doctorate is further studies designed for a person holding a doctoral degree. Further studies amounts to academic or scholarly research. Usually, research is completed within five years. The research intends further deepen expertise in a specialist subject, requiring necessary skills and methods. A postdoctoral research can be funded through an appointment with a salary or an appointment with a stipend. Appointments made for post doctorate research is called Postdoctoral Research Fellow or Postdoctoral Research Associate. Sponsorship can also fund a post doctorate research.
