Poverty Rate Law and Legal Definition
According to 7 CFR 25.3 [Title 7 Agriculture; Subtitle A Office of the Secretary of Agriculture; Part 25 Rural Empowerment Zones and Enterprise Communities; Subpart A General Provisions], poverty rate means, for a given Census tract, the poverty rate reported in Table 19 of the Bureau of the Census CPH-3 series of publications from the 1990 Census of Population and Housing: Population and Housing Characteristics for Census Tracts and Block Numbering Areas.
