Praetorian edict means one of the yearly proclamation by which the new judges are give knowledge of the legal rules that they would apply in the administration of justice. The praetorian edicts were a critical factor in the development of the law. They introduced new actions in order to protect legal situations and transactions which were deprived judicial protection.
