Preventive Services Provided by Physicians Law and Legal Definition
According to 42 CFR 440. 130 [Title 42, Public Health, Chapter IV,Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Department of Health and Human Services, SubChapter C, Medical Assistance Programs, Part 440, Services, General Provisions, Subpart A, Definitions],preventive services provided by physicians means “services provided by a physician or other licensed practitioner of the healing arts within the scope of his practice under State law to:
- Prevent disease, disability, and other health conditions or their progression;
- Prolong life; and
- Promote physical and mental health and efficiency.
