Principia Probant, Non Probantur Law and Legal Definition
Principia probant, non probantur is a legal maxim that provides that fundamental principles need not be proved. Fundamental principles are used to prove matters in question. They are presumed to be true and therefore need not be proved. The maxim also means principles prove, they are not proved. Fundamental principles require no proof. They are considered as priori.
