Private Non-profit Agency Law and Legal Definition
According to 36 CFR 72.3 [Title 36 -- Parks, Forests, and Public Property; Chapter I -- National Park Service, Department of the Interior; Part 72 -- Urban Park and Recreation Recovery Act of 1978; Subpart A – General], Private Non-profit Agency is “a reputable community-based, non-profit organization, corporation, or association organized for purposes of providing recreation, conservation, education or other community services directly to urban residents; on a neighborhood or communitywide basis, through voluntary donations, voluntary labor, or public or private grants.”
