Proceeding Before the Office [Patents] Law and Legal Definition
According to 37 CFR 10.1 (s) [Title 37 -- Patents, Trademarks, and Copyrights; Chapter I -- United States Patent and Trademark Office, Department of Commerce; Subchapter A – General; Part 10 -- Representation of Others Before the Patent and Trademark Office; Practice Before the Patent and Trademark Office], the term proceeding before the Office “includes an application, a reexamination, a protest, a public use proceeding, a patent interference, an inter partes trademark proceeding, or any other proceeding which is pending before the Office (United States Patent and Trademark Office).”
