Procurator means an agent or an attorney. S/he is a person who acts for another by virtue of a procuration.
In ecclesiastical law, procurator is an employee of the Roman emperor in civil affairs, especially in finance and taxes, in management of imperial estates and properties, and in governing minor provinces.
Procurator is also known as proctor.
