The Professional Responsibility Advisory Office (PRAO) is a part of the U.S. Department of Justice to provide advice to the department attorneys on issues relating to professional issues. The mission of PRAO is to ensure prompt, consistent advice to Department attorneys and Assistant United States Attorneys with respect to professional responsibility issues. The PRAO is responsible for investigating attorneys employed by the department who have been accused of misconduct or crimes in their professional functions.
