Program Trading Law and Legal Definition
Program trading is a form of computerized securities trading that usually consists of purchase or sale of a large number of stocks. Simultaneous to this, purchase or sale of index futures in off-setting amount also takes place in purchase trading. Here, shares are purchased according to whether prices are rising or falling. In program trading such purchase or sale are based on directions issued from computer applications and executed automatically.
