Propter Defectum Law and Legal Definition
Propter defectum is a Latin term. Propter means ‘on account of’ or ‘by reason of,’ and defectum means defect. Therefore, propter defectum means ‘because of a defect or on account of a defect.’
Formerly, the term was used to refer to a challenge to a juror on account of some defect or incapacity.
