Publicly Available Information Law and Legal Definition

According to 17 CFR 160.3 [Title 17 -- Commodity and Securities Exchanges; Chapter I -- Commodity Futures Trading Commission; Part 160 -- Privacy of Consumer Financial Information], publicly available information means “any information that you reasonably believe is lawfully made available to the general public from:

(i) Federal, state or local government records;

(ii) Widely distributed media; or

(iii) Disclosures to the general public that are required to be made by federal, state or local law.”
