PURPA Benefits Law and Legal Definition
According to 18 CFR 4.30 [Title 18 Conservation of Power and Water Resources; Chapter I Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Department of Energy; Subchapter B Regulations Under the Federal Power Act; Part 4 Licenses, Permits, Exemptions, and Determination of Project Costs], PURPA benefits means benefits under section 210 of the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 (PURPA). Section 210(a) of PURPA requires electric utilities to purchase electricity from, and to sell electricity to, qualifying facilities.
