Quarter Section Law and Legal Definition
Quarter section means one quarter of a section of land. It is a piece of land containing 160 acres. Quarter section is usually laid off by the north-south, or by the east-west. Anciently, it represented the amount granted to a homesteader. It is also called as quarter.
