Quasi-deviation Law and Legal Definition
The term quasi deviation signifies certain types of breach of a contract of carriage of goods by sea, similar to unreasonable geographic deviation, over carriage, non-delivery and delayed delivery of goods. Such breaches deprives the carrier of the goods the benefit of the package limitation under Carriage of Goods by the Sea Act (COGSA). It also results in the loss of all the carrier's exemptions and limitations of liability.
