Quickening Law and Legal Definition
The term ‘quickening’ is used to refer to the first motion of the fetus in the womb, felt by the mother. Ordinarily, quickening starts occurring about the mid of the term of pregnancy. On experiencing a quickening, the mother is said to be quick with child. Procuring the abortion of a woman quick with child, is a misdemeanor when a woman is capitally convicted. Quickening is also known as quick with child.
