According to 14 CFR 417.3 [Title 14 Aeronautics and Space; Chapter III Commercial Space Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Transportation (Parts 400 to 499); Subchapter C Licensing; Part 417 Launch Safety; Subpart A General and License Terms and Conditions], Safety-Critical Computer System Function means “any computer system function that, if not performed, if performed out of sequence, or if performed incorrectly, may directly or indirectly cause a public safety hazard.”
