Sentence of Imprisonment Law and Legal Definition
A sentence of imprisonment is defined under 18 USCS Appx § 4A1.2 as "a sentence of incarceration and refers to the maximum sentence imposed." “If a part of a sentence of imprisonment was suspended, 'sentence of imprisonment' refers only to the portion that was not suspended."
