Servitus Luminum Law and Legal Definition
Servitus luminum is a Latin term which means ‘the servitude of lights.' It means a servitude that allows a person to receive light from a neighbor’s land. For example, to allow a person to build window in a common wall to light a room is servitus luminum. It creates an obligation upon the owner of a house to allow windows or lights to be put in his/her wall by the owner of the adjoining house.
