Shareware Law and Legal Definition
Shareware is a Software that is distributed free on the basis of an honor system or on a trial basis with the understanding that if it is used beyond the trial period, the user will pay. Usually, the author requests you to pay a small fee if you like the program. Once you send the fee, you become registered with the author and you start receiving service assistance and updates. Some shareware versions are programmed with a built-in expiration date. Shareware is inexpensive because it is usually produced by a single programmer and is offered to customers directly.
