Ship’s papers refer to those papers that a vessel should carry for providing the primary evidence about the ship. Usually, ship’s papers contain evidence showing the ship's national origin, ownership, nature and destination of cargo, and compliance with navigation laws. This evidence also includes certificates of health, charter party, muster-rolls, licenses, and bills of lading.
