Side Effect (Health Care) Law and Legal Definition
Side effect in the context of health care refers to harmful and undesired effect or a problem generated by treatment or medication or other intervention such as surgery. Side effects are also called adverse effects. Sometimes they are called iatrogenic because they are created by a physician or treatment. An example of a side effect is allergy caused by an antibiotic.
