Small Emitter Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 300.2 [Title 10 – Energy; Chapter II -- Department of Energy; Subchapter B -- Climate Change; Part 300 -- Voluntary Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program: General Guidelines], the term small emitter means “an entity whose annual emissions are less than or equal to 10,000 metric tons of CO[2] equivalent, as determined in accordance with § 300.5(c), and that chooses to be treated as a small emitter under the guidelines.”
