Somnolentia is a condition of incomplete sleep or drowsiness resembling drunkenness in its effects. In somnolentia, parts of the faculties are abnormally excited while others are in relaxed condition. It destroys moral agency and a person having this condition will not be normal. Somnolentia is therefore a defense to a crime.
