Spear Phishing Law and Legal Definition
Spear phishing is a type of phishing that attacks a single user or department within an organization. Spear phishing is normally addressed from someone inside the company in a position of trust and requesting information such as login IDs and passwords. This mainly comes from a company’s own human resources or technical support divisions. Spear phishing can ask employees to update their username and passwords. Once hackers get this information, they easily access entry into secured networks. Also spear phishing can ask users to click on a link, which deploys spyware.
